Monument uses 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi to connect to your home network and supports the following security standards:

  • No password
  • WPA
  • WPA2

WEP is an old standard and is not supported. If you're still using WEP, please update to WPA or WPA2 to have batter security.

During the initial setup, Monument app will send the access point information to Monument device and then you will be asked for a password. If you cannot connect to the access point, problem could be one of the following:

  • Access point you're trying to connect to support only 5GHz.
  • Access point is placed far away from Monument.
  • Entered password is wrong.
  • Access point is not configured for automatic IP assignment.

Also, please make sure that the Wi-Fi selection on your mobile device is the same one that you have setup your Monument with. If you have multiple routers at home, this may become an issue. See this article for details.
